A pair of Boston College teammates and NHL draftees highlight this year’s list of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.

Johnny Gaudreau and Kevin Hayes -- who helped the Eagles reach No. 2 in the latest rankings -- headline the list. Gaudreau, a Hobey Hat Trick finalist from a year ago, is a Calgary draftee while Hayes, MVP of the ’14 Beanpot Tournament, is a former first-round pick of the Blackhawks (24th overall, 2010).

Gaudreau and Hayes, who finished first and third in the country in scoring this season, were joined by eight others:

Josh Archibald, Nebraska-Omaha

Archibald, a Pittsburgh draftee, finished second in the nation in goals (29) while emerging the first-ever scoring champion of the new National Collegiate Hockey Conference.

Greg Carey, St. Lawrence

Carey, who recently signed with the Phoenix Coyotes, was a Hobey top-10 finalist last year and leads the country in assists this season, with 39.

Nic Dowd, St. Cloud State

Drafted by the Kings in 2009, Dowd helped St. Cloud clinch the first-ever NCHC regular season title. He captained the team this year and led all Huskies skaters in points.

Ryan Dzingel, Ohio State

Dzingel, an Ottawa prospect, led the Big Ten in scoring and was named first team all-conference this season, his junior year.

Shayne Gostisbehere, Union College

The Flyers prospect led all players in Hobey Baker fan balloting, and helped Union win the ECAC regular season title by finishing eighth in the country in d-man scoring (28).

CJ Motte, Ferris State

Currently unattached to a NHL team, Motte led the nation with 26 wins and emerged as one of the best goalies in the country this season, finishing with four shutouts and a .928 save percentage.

Joel Rumpel, Wisconsin

Another unattached goalie, Rumpel ranks sixth in the nation is GAA (2.19) and save percentage (.931). He was named to the Big Ten’s second all-conference team.

Adam Wilcox, Minnesota

One of three goalies named as a Hobey finalist, the Tampa draftee has already won Big Ten Player of the year, Big Ten goalie of the year and first team all-conference after posting eye-popping numbers: 23-4-6 record, .934 save percentage and 1.91 GAA.
