Video: Matt Moulson scores twice in return to Long Island

Matt Moulson has a knack for scoring goals, so maybe that explains why he tends to find the net at times when he draws a little extra attention. That trend continued on Tuesday, as he scored a first-period goal in his first game against the New York Islanders since his long-time team traded him.

He didn’t get to face the Isles as a member of the Buffalo Sabres, but he did with the Minnesota Wild, and he made this chance count:

That’s the 30-year-old’s 19th goal of the season (two with the Wild, 11 with the Sabres and six with the Isles). Update: he scored again to give him 20 on the season, three with Minnesota and two against his former team:

Minnesota ended up winning 6-0.

Unfortunately for this Islanders fan, it sounds like he isn’t coming back to Long Island after this season.
