St. Louis laments slow start with Rangers

Martin St. Louis has had a slow start since joining the New York Rangers.

In six games with the Blueshirts, St. Louis has yet to score a goal and has two assists. As Larry Brooks of the New York Post shares, St. Louis is hoping to break out soon.

“I think my work ethic has been there but obviously the production isn’t,” St. Louis said. “I wish I had a few bounces but you have to earn those bounces and that’s what I’m trying to do. I’m going to work my way through this. Once I get going, I will get going.”

The Rangers are 3-2-1 since St. Louis joined the Rangers in the trade that sent former New York captain Ryan Callahan to Tampa Bay. While St. Louis has just two points, New York’s offense in general is hurting with 15 goals in the six games he’s played in.

St. Louis’ 63 points this season still has him in the Top 20 in the NHL in scoring. If/When he does get things going, the Rangers will benefit from it.
