As Toronto looks to build off of its 3-2 overtime victory against the New York Rangers on Wednesday, they might need to go on without David Clarkson.

The 29-year-old forward pulled a muscle and left Saturday’s practice as a result. He might miss tonight’s game versus Philadelphia, according to NHL.com.

If Clarkson is unavailable, Troy Bodie will probably fill in for him on the third line. Toronto has also called up forward Frazer McLaren as an insurance policy, per the Canadian Press’ Stephen Whyno.

The Maple Leafs hold the third seed in the Atlantic Division, but they have just a five-point cushion in the battle for a playoff spot.

Clarkson is in his first season of a seven-year deal worth $36.75 million and has left something to be desired. Between injuries and suspensions, he’s been limited to 43 games and has just four goals and six assists.
