Desperate Canucks recall ’11 first-rounder Jensen

With just 12 goals and one win over their last 10 games, the Canucks have called up former first-round pick Nicklas Jensen from AHL Utica in the hopes of providing an offensive spark.

The 29th overall selection at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Jensen has been playing well for the Comets of late and is second on the team in goals, with 15. The former OHL Oshawa standout is a big-bodied winger (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) that does have some NHL experience, appearing in two games last season while averaging close to 15 minutes a night.

Vancouver is currently without the services of forwards Daniel Sedin and Mike Santorelli, so Jensen could be up for a while.
