Martin St. Louis isn’t around to send Steven Stamkos perfect one-timer passers any longer, yet the Tampa Bay Lightning made it something of a symbolic hand-off following the big trade. Stamkos didn’t just return to action against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday; he did so as the team’s new captain.

Stamkos becomes the team’s new captain at 24. Tonight marks his first game since that scary injury on Nov. 11.
