Helm (upper body) hurt vs. Devils, won’t return

Helm

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but the Red Wings have suffered another injury.

This time, it’s Darren Helm -- the speedy center was hurt during tonight’s game in New Jersey and won’t return, Detroit announced during the third period.

As of now, it’s unclear what Helm injured or how significantly he’s hurt. But in the grand scheme of things, any ailment can’t be good -- Detroit is already down the services of centers Henrik Zetterberg and Stephen Weiss, who suffered a setback in his recovery from a groin strain earlier this week.

The Wings are also currently without Mikael Samuelsson and Jakub Kindl -- both on IR -- and have been without the services of Pavel Datsyuk for the last two games.
