The Dallas Stars haven’t been to the playoffs since 2008, but they’ve got a great chance to end that drought in 2014.
“We talked as a team today that we put together a heck of a run just before we left,” coach Lindy Ruff said, per the Dallas Morning News. “We’ve put ourselves in a good position.”
Indeed, the Stars went into the Olympic break on a 6-1-2 run. Tonight, they host Carolina in their first of 24 down the stretch, and with a chance to move back in front of Vancouver for the final playoff spot in the West.
Seven of the Stars’ next nine games will be at home, including key contests next week against the Canucks and Wild.
Oh, and Dallas would be wise to take advantage while it can, because of its last 15 games, 10 will be on the road.
