Video: Re-watch Oshie’s spectacular shootout performance

The United States leans on its offensive depth to win games, but when Saturday’s match against Russia got to a shootout, they turned to T.J. Oshie to carry them the rest of the way.

Participating in an incredible six shootout attempts, including five in a row, Oshie shook off the tremendous pressure of having a game against a major and old rival hang in the balance with his slow, steady, and very effective attack.

He succeeded on four of his six shots, but even when he failed to score, it was by a slim margin as he consistently beat Russian goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.

You can watch his heroics here.

“I was glad it ended when it did,” Oshie admitted to Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston. “I was running out of moves.”
