Henrik Zetterberg’s 2014 Olympic run is over, but that doesn’t mean that the Detroit Red Wings can pencil the Swedish star into the lineup in their next game.

GM Ken Holland told the Detroit Free Press’ Helene St. James that Zetterberg, 33, won’t be ready when the Red Wings return to action. (Their first game is against the Canadiens in Montreal on Feb. 26.)

“He won’t be ready by the time we come out of Olympics,” Holland said. “In fairness to Sweden, Red Wings and himself, he made right decision to pull out of Olympics.”

Zetterberg leads the Red Wings with 48 points in 48 games this season. He carries a heavy workload, logging 20:33 minutes per game (only slightly less than Pavel Datsyuk’s 20:45 per contest).
