At the age of 23, Marcus Johansson is set to make his Olympic debut for Sweden, after being named an injury replacement for Henrik Sedin earlier in the week.

“It’s a great feeling,” Johansson, the Washington Capitals center, said Friday, as per CSN Washington. “It’s a dream come true. Playing for your country is pretty awesome and I’m really excited.”

His spot on the team comes after Henrik Sedin, the Vancouver Canucks captain who has been dealing with a rib injury, officially announced he was not going to Sochi. He’s represented Sweden at two World Junior Championships, and has been with the Capitals now for four seasons, after he was taken 24th overall in 2009.

Johansson has seven goals and 36 points this season with the Capitals. Sweden begins the competition Wednesday against the Czech Republic.
