Things may be feeling down and out for the New York Islanders lately, but they have some good news for when they face the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
The Isles activated defenseman Travis Hamonic from injured reserve after being out since Jan. 13 with a concussion. Hamonic missed 12 games and went 4-7-1 in his absence.
New York’s defense has been under fire lately with Andrew MacDonald struggling and asking for a whopper of a new contract and Lubomir Visnovsky just recently returning from a concussion as well.
Hamonic’s return gives them a young, strong defender back in the lineup and maybe a reason to hold out some hope things can improve soon.
