Wayne Simmonds will probably always remember his 100th career National Hockey League goal, no matter how the puck went in the net.
But he’ll remember that the milestone goal was a beauty, finishing off a sweet passing play from Vincent Lecavalier and Claude Giroux on Saturday, as the Flyers defeated the struggling L.A. Kings. For Simmonds, it’s also his 18th goal of the season. He’s only 10 off his career best, which he achieved in 2011-12 with the Flyers.
“He never stops, no matter what,” Flyers’ head coach Craig Berube recently told USA Today. “In a game, he’s always the same and playing the same. He’s a very, very good player, good leadership.”
