Blues activate Lapierre, send Cracknell to AHL

Agitator extraordinaire Maxim Lapierre, out since Jan. 10 with a lower-body ailment, has been activated from injured reserve and will be eligible to return to the St. Louis lineup for tonight’s game against the Rangers.

Lapierre was hurt on a Dan Hamhuis hipcheck and held off ice for a while, though did continue “exercising full” according to Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock.

The 28-year-old has appeared in 39 games for the Blues this season — his first in St. Louis — and has scored six goals and nine points. He was also suspended five games earlier in the year for a nasty hit from behind on San Jose defenseman Dan Boyle.

As for Cracknell, he’s been up and down between the Blues and their AHL affiliate in Chicago this season, appearing in 17 NHL contests. He was placed on waivers earlier this month, but went unclaimed.
