Pavelski’s first hat trick follows St. Louis’ impressive work as Sharks win

It’s not often that a natural hat trick (which included a game-winner) gets upstaged, but that’s probably true for Joe Pavelski’s first career trio on Saturday. Still, he probably wasn’t too unhappy, as his San Jose Sharks won 5-4 against the Tampa Bay Lightning despite Martin St. Louis’ outstanding four-goal game.

Maybe it’s fitting that Pavelski’s hat trick seemed kind of anticlimactic, as it originally seemed like Matt Irwin scored the third goal. Here are clips of his tallies:

The U.S. Olympian’s excellent overall play hasn’t gone totally under the radar, though, especially what he’s done alongside Joe Thornton:
