One the same week that Jaromir Jagr made his fifth Czech Olympic roster, the New Jersey Devils forward made a little more history tonight. His assist on Adam Henrique’s goal early in Tuesday’s NBCSN contest against the Philadelphia Flyers gave him his 1,723rd career point, tying his old buddy Mario Lemieux for seventh all-time:

Jagr, 42, already passed Lemieux in the all-time goal-scoring ranks back in November.

The veteran winger now has 35 points (and counting?) in 44 games this season counting tonight. He hit the 1,723-point mark in 1,435 regular season contests.

Here are the other players in the 1700’s ahead of Jagr (Gordie Howe, Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky are the only players to eclipse 1,800 points):

4. Ron Francis: 1,798 points
5. Marcel Dionne: 1,771 points
6. Steve Yzerman: 1,755 points

Could Jagr sneak up on Stevie Y this season? We’ll see.
