The New York Rangers will be without right winger Derek Dorsett for a lengthy period of time.

As per Katie Strang of ESPN New York, the Rangers announced that Dorsett suffered a broken fibula blocking a shot in the first period of Friday’s 5-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. He is expected to be out for six weeks as a result.

The 27-year-old Dorsett had only three minutes and 19 seconds of ice time Friday, before the injury occurred.

In 37 games with the Rangers this season, Dorsett has three goals and five points.
