The Buffalo Sabres will be without one of their top defensemen for a short while.
Sabres interim coach Ted Nolan said Henrik Tallinder would miss 1-2 weeks with an upper-body injury. Nolan said he suffered the injury on Sunday against the Washington Capitals.
Tallinder’s absence will open up a spot for Alexander Sulzer to rejoin Buffalo’s top six along the blue line. Sulzer was out of that mix recently after being one of a handful of players to come down with the flu.
Tallinder had been paired up with Tyler Myers since Nolan was brought on board. Sulzer had been paired with Christian Ehrhoff for a bit, but he’s had Mark Pysyk as his defense partner lately.
