The Ottawa Senators have been stuck in the mud all season, but they have an opportunity to finally get something going after earning five of a possible six points in a trio of close matches.
So far, it looks like whatever momentum they might have had is gone. Senators goaltender Craig Anderson was pulled just 4:18 minutes into this afternoon’s contest against the Los Angeles Kings. He faced just four shots and allowed goals to Dwight King and Jeff Carter.
The match is still young, but it will be tough for Ottawa to overcome that 2-0 deficit. The Kings are 15-2-2 when they score first this season. They also have rookie goaltender Martin Jones between the pipes, who couldn’t have started his career on much higher of a note.
Jones had a 0.74 GAA and .974 save percentage in four starts. He has an opportunity today to start his career with five consecutive wins.
