Tampa Bay blueliner Victor Hedman will miss the next seven days with a lower-body injury suffered during Thursday’s 3-1 win over Ottawa, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Hedman, 22, logged just 5:39 against the Sens before leaving the game for good. The first-round pick (second overall) at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft was having a very good season prior to getting hurt -- six goals and 15 points in 27 games while averaging 21:54 TOI per game -- and was on pace for career-best numbers offensively.
Hedman’s injury is the latest in a long line of setbacks for the Lightning this season. They entered Thursday’s game without Steve Stamkos, Ryan Malone, Radko Gudas and Eric Brewer.
