Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jan Hejda appeared to suffer a knee injury in Thursday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers, according to Mike Chambers of The Denver Post.

The 35-year-old Hejda had three goals and nine points in 25 games coming into tonight.

It’s been a tough night for defensemen across the National Hockey League. Johnny Boychuk of the Boston Bruins, Trevor Daley of the Dallas Stars and Victor Hedman have each suffered injuries tonight.

Updated: Hejda will not return to this game due to a knee injury, the Avalanche announced via Twitter.
