On Wednesday, the Blackhawks announced that Andrew Shaw and Michal Handzus weren’t traveling with the club and would miss tomorrow’s game in Minnesota.

For Shaw, the development comes less than 24 hours after an intense affair against the Dallas Stars. Late in the first period, Shaw engaged in a wild fight with Stars forward Antoine Roussel:

Then, late in the third period, Shaw took a big hit from Dallas defenseman Brenden Dillon (captured here):

As for Handzus, he was scratched from last night’s contest due to an illness, so skipping the trip to Minnesota isn’t a huge surprise.

With Handzus and Shaw out, the ‘Hawks have recalled Jeremy Morin and Joakim Nordstrom from AHL Rockford.
