Datsyuk-less Detroit gets Alfredsson back Sunday

alfredssongetty

The Detroit Red Wings walk into Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres battered and bruised, but at least it appears that they’re getting Daniel Alfredsson back, as the Buffalo News notes.

This is welcomed news, as the Red Wings will be without the likes of Pavel Datsyuk, Todd Bertuzzi and Danny DeKeyser for at least tonight’s contest. Datysuk suffered what might be a concussion thanks to a questionable hit by Ottawa Senators defenseman Jared Cowen on Saturday.

Alfredsson, 40, has been out since Nov. 12 with a groin injury. The Swedish winger has 14 points in 19 games during his first season with Detroit.
