St. Louis waived forward Chris Porter on Friday, the club announced.
Porter, 29, has spent his entire six-year career with the Blues organization and appeared in over 100 games, but had a tough time cracking the lineup this season and dressed for just two contests.
The former University of North Dakota winger rose to prominence during last year’s playoffs, thriving on a checking like with Ryan Reaves and Adam Cracknell -- the “CPR Line” -- which threw a ton of hits during the opening playoff round against Los Angeles.
Porter signed a two-year, $1.35 million extension with the Blues this past summer, carrying an average annual cap hit of $675,000. He last played in a 2-1 win over Pittsburgh on Nov. 9, and was scratched for last night’s 7-3 blowout win over Colorado.
