We briefly mentioned Ed Snider’s frustration at the bottom of our post on the Jordan Eberle-Philadelphia trade rumor. Here is the Flyers’ outspoken owner in full as he sounds off on his team’s dismal performance last night versus New Jersey:

Some key quotes for those who can’t watch:

“I’ve been in the game for 47 years. I’ve never seen anything like this. We certainly know that we’re more talented than we’re showing on the ice. I think the question is, ‘How talented are we?’”

“I’m hoping they’ll snap out of it and show us the kind of talent that they’ve shown in the past and that we believe they still have.”

“When [the fans are] booing like they were last night, to me it’s very disconcerting, but I understand it. I don’t blame them. The effort was pathetic. We were losing all the battles along the boards and we can’t continue to be a team that can’t score. If we can’t score, we can at least win the battles along the boards.”

“I’ve never seen a team that can’t score...with the talent that we have.”

“It’s a constant thing to evaluate talent. Players are good, then they struggle, they go through certain things, but usually not all at once. We all know what these guys can do. It’s not like they’re all new guys and we never saw them before. Everybody knows what Claude Giroux can do and what kind of talent he has.”

Speaking of Giroux...
