Nashville Predators forward Matt Hendricks suffered an upper-body injury and will not return to Thursday’s game against the Phoenix Coyotes, as per Joshua Cooper of The Tennessean.

Hendricks left the game in the second period, after taking a heavy hit from Coyotes defenseman Derek Morris.

He appeared to suffer a cut above his right eye. Morris did not receive a penalty on the play.

Hendricks, 32, had yet to record a point in 12 regular season games. He opened the scoring for Nashville, with his first of the season in the first period.
