Alex Ovechkin missed practice today. The Capitals are saying their captain and leading goal-scorer is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Ovechkin played 19:49 during Monday’s 3-2 loss in Vancouver, including 7:05 in the third period.
Washington’s next game is Friday in Philadelphia.
We’ll have more after head coach Adam Oates speaks to reporters.
Update (12:58 p.m. ET)
Not surprisingly, Oates didn’t provide any injury specifics. He’s reportedly unsure if Ovechkin will be ready for Friday.
