A day after bruising a bone in his foot at practice, Leafs winger Joffrey Lupul is “questionable” for tonight’s game in Columbus, according to Toronto head coach Randy Carlyle.
If Lupul can’t go -- and it doesn’t sound like he will, per Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston -- he’ll be replaced by AHL call-up Josh Leivo.
Lupul’s six goals in 10 games leads the Leafs, so his absence would be felt if he’s forced to sit out. (Though somewhat softening that potential blow is the fact David Clarkson will finally be in the lineup.)
Both Toronto and Columbus are coming off wins -- the Leafs over the Ducks, 4-2, on Tuesday; the Blue Jackets over the Devils, 4-1, also on Tuesday.
