The San Jose Sharks showed why they were the last team in the NHL to remain without a regulation loss on Thursday, dominated puck possession against the Boston Bruins. David Krejci scored a 2-1 game-winner with about a second left, however, to steal one for the B’s.
Krejci might get the immediate glory, but it was Tuukka Rask who won an impressive battle of two goalies who should get serious consideration as Finland’s No. 1 goalie at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Rask stopped 38 out of 39 shots to edge Antti Niemi, who allowed two goals on 17.
San Jose held a shot advantage in all three periods, with the disparity being most apparent in the first period (16-3). They couldn’t beat Rask, 26, once in that opening frame, though.
Patrick Marleau scored the Sharks’ lone goal while Jarome Iginla found the net for his first time with Boston.
