‘It’s not easy right now’: Flyers drop to 1-7

The Philadelphia Flyers made franchise history on Thursday, but for all the wrong reasons.
On Thursday, the Flyers fell 4-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and are now off to a 1-7 start to begin the season. It’s the worst start to a regular season in franchise history, as per the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“It’s not easy right now. We’re struggling to create an offense,” Flyers goalie Steve Mason said afterward.
“I’m just trying to make the saves I need to make and be patient and eventually it will come.”
The Flyers will now have the next six days to reflect on their current situation. They don’t play again until next Thursday, when they host the New York Rangers.
Making matters worse in this one is veteran defenseman Kimmo Timonen left the game and did not return due to a lower-body injury.
