No suspension or fine for Kings’ Nolan regarding hit on Coyotes’ Klesla

jordannolangetty

The NHL decided not to suspend Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Nolan for his controversial hit on Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla.

Click here for the video explanation.

Shanahan notes that Nolan leads with his shoulder (not his elbow) and the hit is “not late by NHL standards.” He believes that the head wasn’t targeted on the hit. Ultimately, it appears that the league believes that it was a “hard, legal check.”

No doubt about it, the Kings probably agree and the Coyotes almost certainly don’t, but the bottom line is that Nolan won’t miss a moment of ice time while Klesla recovers with concussion-like symptoms.
