Foster signs with KHL club

Kurtis Foster

A veteran of six different NHL teams, defenseman Kurtis Foster has signed with KHL club Medvescak Zagreb.

Foster spent last season with the Philadelphia Flyers, scoring once and adding four assists in 23 games.

The 31-year-old is perhaps best known for coming back from a broken leg that he suffered on March 20, 2008, while playing for the Minnesota Wild.

In the press release announcing his signing, Medvescak lauded Foster’s big shot and said he should be the team’s top defender.

Foster’s best offensive NHL season came in 2009-10 when he racked up 42 points for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
