It’s anyone’s guess if a single one of these players will make it to salary arbitration, but 21 players filed for it on Wednesday. The group includes some noteworthy names such as Edmonton Oilers center Sam Gagner and St. Louis Blues winger Chris Stewart.
One interesting wrinkle to consider: a team cannot walk away from an arbitration award under $3.5 million in the new CBA. Teams have mostly avoided the awkward process with their players in recent years, but that change adds even more incentive.
