The Islanders have continued their busy start to free agency, agreeing to terms with ex-Ottawa forward Peter Regin.
The deal is for one year and $750,000, according to Newsday’s Arthur Staple.
Regin, 27, has spent his entire five-year career with Ottawa, scoring career highs in goals (13), assists (16) and points (29) during the 2009-10 campaign.
The Danish forward wasn’t used much last season -- appearing in just 27 games -- and didn’t dress at all in the playoffs.
It should be noted Regin missed time with an upper-body injury in 2013, which cost him seven games.
Health has been his biggest problem throughout his career -- he’s been chronically injured (especially his shoulders), missing 72 games in 2011-12, 27 the year before and seven the year before that, all due to either a shoulder or upper-body injury.
