Flyers retain Adam Hall for one year, $600K

adamhallgetty

The Philadelphia Flyers decided to bring back forward Adam Hall on Thursday, agreeing to a one-year deal that will net him $600K, according to team Web site reporter Anthony SanFilippo.

More than anything else, the 33-year-old brings versatility to the table. Hall is listed as a wing, yet he can play defense and win faceoffs effectively enough to be a solid fourth-line center.

(Points aren’t a big part of the equation with just four in 37 games between the Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes and Flyers last season, but that’s reflected in his paycheck.)

Flyers blog Broad Street Hockey speculates that Hall’s re-signing might imply another move is in the works - the team is nearing its expected limit for forwards, with some prospects seemingly on the verge of a jump to the NHL - but we’ll have to wait and see what the rest of the summer holds.
