Neither Thomas Vanek nor Ryan Miller have had contract extension talks with the Sabres, the two players’ representatives tell The Buffalo News.
“I have not personally talked to the Sabres but expect to see them at Draft,” Steve Bartlett, Vanek’s agent, wrote the paper in an email. “No special agenda though.”
“Nothing in the way of an extension,” wrote Mike Liut, the agent for Miller.
Vanek, the Sabres’ leading scorer, and Miller, the franchise goalie, each have a year left on their current deals; however, it’s not clear if either will remain in Buffalo long-term.
Earlier this week, Sabres owner Terry Pegula said he wants the pair to stay. But whether the feeling is mutual, we’ll have to wait and see.
