Report: Alain Vigneault pulls out of Stars coaching mix

Former Vancouver Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault hopes to find himself behind the bench of an NHL team again, just not with the Dallas Stars.

At least, that’s the case if TSN’s Aaron Ward is correct that the 52-year-old coach no longer wants to be considered for the Stars’ vacated head coaching position.

Ward notes that this has fueled speculation that Vigneault might just be the guy for the New York Rangers, which could mean some disappointment for other rumored candidates such as Mark Messier and John Stevens.

It’s possible that Vigneault is eye-balling another job instead, so we’ll just need to wait and see where the coaching carousel leaves us.

Between stops with the Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks, Vigneault has compiled a 422-288-35-61 record in 806 games.
