Former Alex Ovechkin linemate Joey Crabb won’t be back with the Capitals in 2013-14, according to the Washington Post.
Crabb’s agent, Kevin Epp, told the Post that Crabb “has no intentions to sign back with the Capitals,” adding that “I don’t think it worked out for either party.”
Crabb, 30, inked a one-year, one-way deal worth $950,000 last summer after a solid 2011-12 campaign in Toronto, where he notched career highs in goals (11), assists (15) and points (26).
The former Colorado College standout got some quality opportunities in Washington -- in late January, he was playing with Ovechkin and Jay Beagle -- but eventually faded out of Adam Oates’ plans entirely.
Crabb didn’t play in a single regular-season contest after Mar. 17 and didn’t appear in any of Washington’s seven opening-round playoff games against the Rangers.
