Sarnia Sting head coach and general manager Jacques Beaulieu has been fired by the OHL club.
The move comes a month after Beaulieu was charged with two counts of assault.
“The reasons for his dismissal are not related to the on ice performance of our hockey club,” said co-owner Rob Ciccarelli in a release. “As per the advice of our lawyers we cannot comment any further at this time.”
Beaulieu’s 20-year-old son, Nathan — a prospect with the Montreal Canadiens — was also charged in what the London Free Press described as “a fight at a party at a private home.”
