The last four Stanley Cup champions have made it to the 2013 playoffs’ final four.
While the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins needed just five games to end their respective second-round series, the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings were pushed to the limit in theirs.
There’s also not a lot of postseason history between the two teams. The Blackhawks won the teams’ only series 4-1 way back in 1973-74.
It might be short on history, but it’s likely long on storylines. After all, it doesn’t get much better than Presidents’ Trophy winners vs. defending Stanley Cup champions, does it?
