The New York Islanders kicked off what promises to be a busy offseason by re-signing forward Eric Boulton on a one-year deal.
Boulton, 36, joined the Isles this season after spending 2011-12 with New jersey. The 13-year veteran appeared in 15 games for the Islanders, registering a minus-4 rating while racking up 36 PIM.
A noted pugilist, Boulton only got in four scraps this season (down from a career-high 18 in 2002-03 ) but one stuck out in particular -- this Apr. 18 tilt against Toronto’s Colton Orr:
Financial terms of the deal were not released, but Boulton spent last season playing on a one-year, $540,000 deal.
