Yesterday, we wrote about the Florida Panthers’ pursuit of a new $4.2 million scoreboard for the BB&T Center.

Today, the Panthers convinced Broward County, the owner of the arena, to pay for it.

Per George Richards of the Miami Herald, the Broward County Commission voted 6-2 in favor of shelling out for the scoreboard, which should be in place for next season.

“Thank you Broward County for your support,” tweeted Panthers president Michael Yormark. “Big day for the arena and the county.”
