The Florida Panthers want a new, $4.2 million scoreboard for the BB&T Center (image), and they want Broward County, the owner of the arena, to pay for it.
“We’ve put enough money into the building,” Panthers president Michael Yormark told the Miami Herald.
“We’re not in the position to buy one. If the scoreboard just collapses next year, which I’m sure it will, we just won’t have a scoreboard.”
But county auditor Evan Lukic says the scoreboard is the Panthers’ responsibility.
The team will go before the Broward County Commission tomorrow to argue its case (spreadsheet).
