Leafs’ Fraser out after surgery, Liles to draw in

MarkFraser

Looks like Toronto will have another defenseman in the lineup for Friday’s elimination game in Boston.

Mark Fraser, who was hit in the forehead with a puck on Wednesday night, underwent surgery to repair a “cranial” fracture (as per head coach Randy Carlyle) and will be out indefinitely.

Carlyle also said John-Michael Liles will replace Fraser on the blueline.

Liles, 32, has been in and out of the Toronto lineup this season and appeared in just one postseason game -- Toronto’s playoff opener, a 4-1 loss to the Bruins at TD Garden.

Liles played 16:13 in Game 1 and went minus-1 while recording one shot on goal.

The loss of Fraser is the second Toronto has suffered on the blueline, as Mike Kostka broke his finger in Game 1 and was lost for the series.
