Like it or not, Raffi Torres has been a difference-maker for the San Jose Sharks.
The team didn’t expect him to score many goals like he did in OT in Game 2 on Friday, but he brings plenty of positive qualities to the table, as head coach Todd McLellan told the team’s Web site.
“He’s had a huge impact on our team,” McLellan said. “One of the goals that we had, even at the beginning of the season but more so at the trade deadline, was to make our team faster and maybe a little harder to play against. Raffi brings both of those elements. He’s very capable on the power play and plays the game very hard.”
He won’t win the Sharks many popularity contests, but so far, it seems like he’s helping them win games.
