Sharks’ Havlat knocked out of Game 1

San Jose Sharks forward Martin Havlat left Wednesday’s Game 1 Western Conference quarterfinal game against Vancouver midway through the first period, and has yet to return.

Havlat, 32, played five shifts for 3:16 of ice time before retiring to the dressing room around the nine minutes mark.

He wasn’t on the San Jose bench to start the second period.

Prior to getting hurt, the Czech winger had been skating on one of the Sharks’ best lines as of late alongside Patrick Marleau and Logan Couture, and was robbed by Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo just three minutes into the contest.

No word yet on what type of injury Havlat may have suffered.
