In a battle of two teams destined for the golf courses next week, the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Phoenix Coyotes in the shootout.
Matt Duchene, who also had three assists, and P.A. Parenteau scored for Colorado in the skills competition, and the Avalanche won for just the fourth time on the road this season with a 5-4 shootout victory over the Coyotes.
