The Chicago Blackhawks will go into the Stanley Cup playoffs as the league’s top regular season team.

The Blackhawks clinched the Presidents’ Trophy with a 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night, improving their record to a staggering 35-6-5 and 75 points. Behind Chicago in the overall standings are the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Eastern Conference leaders, with 70 points and two games remaining in the season.

Goalie Ray Emery got credit for the win, however he left the game less than 14 minutes into the first period with what the club stated on Twitter was a “lower-body” injury. He did not return to the game. Corey Crawford was forced to make an appearance, but made 14 saves to preserve the victory for Emery.

Here is a video of Patrick Kane’s winning goal against the Oilers.
