The Buffalo Sabres have asked their captain, forward Jason Pominville, to provide them a list of eight teams to which he’ll refuse a trade, according to Patrick Caisse of TVA Sports.

It’s not clear if this is something Pominville has to do every year per terms of his limited no-trade clause, or if the list is only requested when the Sabres are exploring a move.

Regardless, if the report is true, there will be 21 teams the Sabres can call about the 30-year-old that was drafted 55th overall by Buffalo in 2001.

Pominville has 10 goals and 13 assists in 36 games. He’s also signed through next season with a cap hit of $5.3 million.

Sabres general manager Darcy Regier has said that nobody’s untouchable on the disappointing team, including Pominville, starting goalie Ryan Miller and top scorer Thomas Vanek.
