Toronto forward Joffrey Lupul says he isn’t quite 100 percent, but he’s nonetheless ready to return to the Maple Leafs’ lineup Saturday against Winnipeg after an extended layoff with a fractured forearm.
The Leafs could use all the help they can get. Losers of four straight, including last night’s loss to the Penguins, they’ll face a Jets team that’s won four of five and moved into a playoff spot last night.
Lupul has only played three games this season, registering no points. In January, on the heels of a 67-point 2011-12 campaign, he signed a five-year, $26.25 million contract extension.Lupul: “It’s not like it was before it was broken, but it’s at a point where the doctor think it’s safe to play.”
